Bushcraft & tracking with Woodlore
UK & overseas · with Woodlore
You'll book with Woodlore directly. I pass your enquiry on and step out of the way.
UK & overseasRay Mears founded Woodlore in 1983, making it the world's oldest school of wilderness bushcraft. The associated bushcraft equipment company Ray Mears Bushcraft was established separately in 1990.
The bushcraft courses run in one-day, two-day and week-long formats, including Fundamental Bushcraft, fungi foraging and fire lighting sessions. Style is hands-on and practical: skills built in the field rather than described in the classroom.
Overseas expeditions run to international locations: Sweden and France are named on the site, with Arctic experiences and canoeing on the Ardèche among the trip types. Family courses adapt the same skill-building approach for mixed ages.
The stated aim is to go beyond survival and learn to truly live and travel well in the wild. Instruction is rooted in genuine wilderness experience, with specialist instructors alongside Woodlore's own team. Specific group sizes and course pricing are not published on the homepage.
