Bayford, HertfordshireGraham Couling founded Polaris Bushcraft in 2012, and holds APIOL accreditation, NCFE Level 4 Bushcraft Leadership, NCFE Practical Ethnobotany, Archery GB instructor certification, and membership of the Institute of Outdoor Learning.
The school runs from a 40 to 45 acre private ancient broadleaf woodland in Bayford, Hertfordshire. It's a gated site with no public footpaths, secure parking, and 30 minutes from the M25 with direct London rail access.
The programme spans weekend courses (Bushcraft & Survival Weekends, Bow Making) and day workshops (Plant & Tree Identification, Wild Food & Foraging, Natural Navigation, Spoon Carving, Axe Skills, Family Bushcraft Days). Also runs the IOL Bushcraft Competency Certificate as an accredited pathway.
The stated ethos is to make the outdoors accessible for all, teaching both contemporary survival techniques and traditional living skills.
