The Bushcraft Essentials weekend is Frontier's two-day introduction. It sits between the single foundation day and the six-day immersion courses. Emphasis is on practical application of core skills rather than the theory behind them, and two days allows a wider variety of skill-sets than a single day can carry.

Frontier's whole syllabus reads as a progression: from the single-day foundation, up through the six-day Elementary Wilderness Bushcraft, then Intermediate, alongside specialist strands like navigation, axecraft and tracking. This is the second step. Groups are kept low, though a specific cap is not published on the site.
